Who we are
Elena Fans is an unofficial fan project. We are not affiliated with Elena Rybakina, her team, her sponsors, the WTA or the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation, and we do not speak for any of them. The name and the elena-fans.kz address were chosen so that nobody could mistake the site for the player's personal website: this is a site about her, not her site.
The project grew out of a simple need. A fan in Kazakhstan wants one place that shows the start time of the next match in Astana time, the score of the last one and a short explanation of what that result means for the ranking - without second-hand retellings and without piecing the picture together across five browser tabs.
What you will find here
- Daily. The next match with a countdown, the path through the current event, results, news and her position in the WTA rankings.
- Reference. Biography, titles, game analysis, equipment, coaching team, head-to-head records against her rivals and pages on the key tournaments of the season.
- Tools. A calendar subscription with reminders, browser notifications, an RSS news feed, a quiz and a glossary of tennis terms.
- Three languages. Russian, Kazakh and English. The versions are maintained in parallel: a page appears in a language only once it is fully translated, so the language switcher never leads to an empty or half-translated page.
Where the facts come from
We sort sources into three tiers and publish a fact only when it is confirmed by a first-tier source or by two independent second-tier sources.
- Primary sources. Tournament websites, the player profile on wtatennis.com and the official @lenarybakina account. Scores, schedules, rankings and the player's own words come from here.
- Specialist outlets and news agencies. Used for context, match statistics and press-conference quotes. The source is named under every news item.
- Reference summaries. Encyclopaedia tables and results aggregators tell us where to look, but they are never the basis for publication: summary draws often have rows and scores mixed up.
Until confirmation arrives, a table says "result being confirmed" rather than guessing. We convert match times to Astana time from the official order of play: an evening match in New York is already the early morning of the next day in Kazakhstan, and that is the easiest place to get a date wrong.
What you will not find here
- rumours attributed to anonymous "insiders";
- articles about appearance or private life that have nothing to do with the sport;
- invented or "improved" quotes;
- bookmaker advertising, betting odds and affiliate links;
- links to pirate streams;
- other people's photographs without a licence, or AI-generated "photos" of a real person.
How we correct mistakes
Anyone covering sport in real time makes mistakes. If you spot something wrong - an incorrect score, an outdated ranking, a mixed-up date - write to info@elena-fans.kz and tell us which page. We check the report against a primary source, and the correction goes live the same day it is confirmed.
The "Updated" date at the top of every page is the date its content last actually changed, not the date the site was rebuilt. If a page has not changed for a while, you can see that at once, and search engines receive the same honest date.
How the site is built
Elena Fans is a static site: pages are built in advance and open quickly even on a mobile connection. It carries no advertising and no affiliate links. The only third-party services are two visitor counters, Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica; they set their own cookies to tell new readers from returning ones. YouTube videos and Instagram posts load only when you press play, so until you click, the page does not contact those services. Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons under free licences, with the author and licence credited beneath each image. The ranking chart, the titles map and the social-media cards are drawn by us from open data.
Contact
Project email: info@elena-fans.kz. Write to us about errors, with suggestions, or about rights to any material: if something on the site infringes your rights, we will remove or correct it once we have checked. Requests from the player's team are handled first.
