Elena Fansthe Elena Rybakina fan site

Privacy policy

The site asks you to register for nothing and collects no names, phone numbers or addresses. The only thing happening here is visit counting by two analytics services. Below is the detail: what they record, where it goes and how to opt out.

Who processes the data

elena-fans.kz is run by a private individual in Kazakhstan. It is an unofficial fan project with no connection to Elena Rybakina, her team, the WTA or the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation. For any question about data, write to info@elena-fans.kz. We answer letters about personal data within a few days.

What the site does not collect

That is the short list, so it comes first. There is no registration, no user accounts, no comments, no newsletter and no contact forms. We neither request nor store names, phone numbers, postal addresses or payment details. The only way to hand us anything about yourself is to email the project; then we hold your address and the text of your message, and we use them solely to reply.

Analytics services

Two counters run on every page. Both are external services and collect data on their own side under their own rules.

  • Google Analytics 4, run by Google LLC. The measurement ID is visible in the page source. Sets cookies named _ga and _ga_*.
  • Yandex Metrica (Yandex LLC). Sets cookies named _ym_uid, _ym_d and similar. Click mapping and outbound-link tracking are enabled.

What they record: which pages you opened and in what order, how long you stayed, where you came from, device and browser type, screen resolution, system language, approximate region from your IP address, plus clicks and scrolling within a page. All of it is aggregate statistics: it answers "which sections get read", not "who read them". We do not identify individual visitors and do not try to.

Why it exists. The site is run by one person in their spare time, and the numbers show where that time is worth spending: which pages people actually open, where they arrive from on match day and which sections nobody reads. The figures have no other use.

Where the data goes

Everything collected is stored on Google and Yandex servers and processed under their own policies, which we cannot influence. Both companies sit outside Kazakhstan, so the data crosses borders. The details are in their documents:

We pass visitor data to nobody else and sell it to nobody. There are no ad networks on the site, no affiliate links and no traffic resale.

What the site keeps inside your browser

Besides the analytics cookies, the site uses browser local storage. That is not a cookie and never reaches any server. It holds small things: your chosen colour theme, your score in the fan zone quiz and a note that you allowed a match reminder. All of it lives in your browser only, and clearing site data wipes it without trace.

Embedded YouTube and Instagram

Videos and posts load only after you click them. Until you do, your browser never contacts YouTube or Instagram and they know nothing of your visit. Once you click, their rules apply: YouTube is embedded in no-cookie mode (youtube-nocookie.com), though that does not remove data collection entirely.

How to opt out

This is done on your side, and the site keeps working in full.

  1. Browser settings. Block third-party cookies or switch on enhanced tracking protection - Firefox, Safari and Chrome all offer it.
  2. A blocker. Any extension such as uBlock Origin, or your browser's built-in protection, disables both counters.
  3. Official opt-outs. Google Analytics opt-out add-on and the Yandex Metrica opt-out page.
  4. Private browsing. Cookies are deleted when the window closes.

If you want to know what has been collected about you, or to demand deletion, the request goes to Google and Yandex: the data sits with them, not with us. We will help you navigate it - write to info@elena-fans.kz.

Children

The site is written for an adult audience of tennis fans and is not intended for children under sixteen. We deliberately collect no data from children and publish no material aimed at them.

Changes

If the set of services on the site changes - if advertising appears, for example - this page will be updated before those changes go live. The date at the top of the page moves only when the text itself changes.

How the site is built and the rules we follow with facts are described on the about page.

Frequently asked questions

Which cookies does the site set?

The site sets none of its own. Two analytics services set theirs: Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) and Yandex Metrica (_ym_uid, _ym_d and similar). Display settings are kept in browser local storage and never reach a server.

Can I turn tracking off?

Yes. An ad blocker, blocking third-party cookies, the official Google Analytics opt-out add-on and the Yandex Metrica opt-out page all work. The site keeps functioning.

Do you collect names and phone numbers?

No. There is no registration and there are no forms. The only personal data we may hold is your address and message if you email the project yourself.

Is there advertising on the site?

Not at present. If it appears, this page will be updated in advance.
